Born in Carbondale, Illinois, Ofori spent his early youth in Dayton, Ohio. In his sophomore year of high school, Ofori left Ohio to attend IMG Soccer Academy, home to U.S. Soccer's residency program for the United States' U-17 and U-16 men's national teams, in Bradenton, Florida. After graduating from IMG, Ofori attended and played for Indiana University.
